After a couple of years in equine practice in Western Australia after Vet School, I returned to the U.S. to complete a residency in Equine Reproduction at U.C. Davis. Since then I have been engaged in equine and small animal/mixed practice.

My Family and our animal menagerie relocated to our beloved little "home on the range" in Tumalo after the sale of our veterinary hospital in Santa Cruz, California in 2006. I subsequently embarked upon a form of practice new to me, providing relief and part-time veterinary services in the area and, occassionally, back in Western ASustralia. I quite enjoy living, playing and wiorking here in Central Oregon.

I am originally from Canton, Kansas, a small farming community in Central Kansas. Following graduation from McPherson College in Kansas, I taught high school science for two years prior to attending veterinary school at Kansas State University.

Following graduation from K-State in 1967, I moved to California and practiced in the San Joaquin Valley of Central California for nearly two years. I joined the staff of Conejo Valley Veterinary Clinic in Thousand Oaks, California as the fourth veterinarian in a mixed animal practice, primarily small animal, equine and exotics. When I retired from full time practice there were thirteen veterinarians on staff.

My professional activities were primarily equine practice, group practice administration, teaching at a local community college and participation in many activities associated with our profession. I am no longer in active practice but enjoy some levels of participation including volunteering for the Eagle Cap Extreme and Iditarod Sled Dog Races.

My wife, Madeline and I, along with a Welsh Corgi "Augie", live in the Powell Butte area. We love Central Oregon!
